WRAP PARTY I
THE DIRECTORS & THEIR FILMS:
STEFAN POPESCU – Nude Study (Trailer)
Originally enrolled to study painting at university, I quickly realised film was my medium of choice and went on to be the first student to make an experimental feature film for my PhD at Sydney College of the Arts. The film, Rosebery 7470, was shot in the small mining town of Rosebery in Tasmania, and went on to screen at various festivals, gaining a release through Accent Underground in 2008. That same year, my PhD thesis, “Material Affects: The Body-Language of Film” was published as a book. My second feature, Nude Study, was partly filmed in Canada and is due for release in 2010 and I am now currently in post-production with my third feature, Zombie Massacre III, shot entirely in Canada. Back in Sydney, I teach at Sydney College of the Arts and am one of the founders and directors of the Sydney Underground Film Festival.
LAUREN TEIKO BAYLISS – Some Kind Of Love Song (Pilot for TVS)
Hi, I run WRAP PARTY at Name This Bar as a member of Motion Picture Militia and of the Industry Advisory Board for Sydney Film School.
My film, Some Kind of Love Song is a pilot that introduces us to a group of friends who live life in the never-never land of their own party world. Hedonists, experimentalists, lovers and friends. SKOLS is a Sydney Film School production I directed in 2006 and was shot on 16mm film. In 2007 film was used as a unique visual support act for Magic Dirt at the Metro on George St. Tonight the film was shown once more in memory of Scarah / Tiger. A lost kid that found her way home.
INGRID DIECKMANN – Cleaning Up (Short)
My thing is horror, mostly: the slow-burning claustrophobia of early Polanski, the bloody dream world of Argento and the squishy venereal madness of Cronenberg. Originally my film background was in sound, but recently I've been trying my hand at writing and occasionally directing. "Cleaning Up" was a conscious effort to do something different from my usual style (which tends towards being fairly dialogue heavy), and I wanted to see how much I could get out of a very simple idea and limited resources.
HAYDEN TOPPERWIEN – The Unnaturalist (Short)
I make movies and vidiotic creations, often with music or sounds as my satus cuspis. A member of Motion Pictures Militia, I have toiled on many projects and often make shorts out of unused footage, "The Unnaturalist" is one such indulgence.
ROHAN HARRIS – Sharehouse Zombie Apocalypse (Webisode)
I'm Rohan Harris. I've been making indie feature films, shorts and web series' now for five years with the same crew of miscreants. The project we showed is Sharehouse Zombie Apocalypse, a web series about a collection of 20-somethings dealing with what's probably the single most ineffectual zombie apocalypse ever conceived.

VICTORIA WAGHORN - Chick Addict (Experimental)
How to describe oneself in a throwaway para? culture jammer. filmmaker. some kind of artist/agitator. media whore. but mostly an AWOL monk... my pilgrimage for story authenticity takes me far and wide through the art, doco, socio/political satire and horror spectrums. life is an interesting fusion of all. from the ugliness of human nature seeps great beauty. i am an eternally fascinated student & documentor of human nature and our relationship with self, others and our external environment. puritanism is vile and i seek the most suitable medium for each project. the story dictates the form, not me.
